This picture seemed to express how we as stylists feel at times when dealing with difficult clients or clients that we are not particularly fond of. We feel overwhelmed, things seem distorted and out of proportion.
I really love and feel blessed to have the clientele that I have-but there are a few clients that unnerve me when they come in for service. In my experience these tend to be clients who ask a lot of questions, questions you’ve answered before, personal questions etc.
So here is what I do. I am going to take Steve Harveys approach here. Steve would say, the advice that I am about to give you may or may not be legal, but you will feel so much better. Lol! Just kidding!
So, Here is what I do, first take a deep breath. Remind yourself why you do what you do. Remember your job is to provide a service, a great service, and do just that. Put yourself in the clients shoes, they may or may not feel the same way about you but whatever the case, they are sitting in your chair because they trust you.
So, oftentimes when I change my thinking and redirect those negative thoughts, dealing with this person tends to get a whole lot easier…….(Until the next appointment, when it starts all over, Hmmmm).
