As I write this, I am so moved that I am little jumpy trying to type. I had to write this now while it was fresh in my mind. This is one of those stories that gives you goose bumps.
As I was servicing one of my clients today, she asks me if she had ever told me about the can of Pork and Beans. I look at her perplexed remembering that I’ve never heard this before. I wish you could have heard the complete story, but for times sake I will make it short and sweet.
She explained to me how she as a young mother with 2 kids, working 2 jobs, used 1 can of Pork and Beans to feed her family for 1 week. She had to make that can last until her next payday. Wow. That brings tears to my eyes and makes me realize that we are so blessed.
But this is how she did it. One night, she made biscuits and beans, the next night she made rice and beans, the following night she made grits and beans and so on. The point is she made the best out of an unfortunate situation. She was determined to take care of her family despite the many obstacles she faced.
She had determination and drive, and used her creative abilities and skills to produce a product that benefited others-her motivation, her children.
As I conclude, we should ask ourselves these questions. What drives you? What motivates you? What can you do with 1 can of Pork and Beans?
May Blessings Abound,
